letter of Appreciation- ten years of sojourn in Canada

Dear Partner,
Calvary greetings in Jesus name. It is once again a great pleasure to acknowledge your support for us as a family, and the church of God and the evolving move of God for the end time the International Gathering of Eagles Conferences. God has surely been good to us and we want to say a big thank you to the big God through our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and to you our partners
It is as if it is yesterday but it is ten years ago that we relocated from Nigeria in obedience to God’s call to move to Canada and put Canada on the spiritual map of the world. We must admit that it was a great challenge to leave our comfort zone to a ‘desert’ as God called Canada to us. With a steady and lucrative job in NNPC (WRPC) and a promising career for me and a vibrant growing church (Christ Apostolic Church Bethel) in Effurun it was really inconceivable for me. My wife’s law practice was doing excellently well as one of her seniors ,Barrister Albert Akpomudje(SAN) said two days ago’ were you to be in Nigeria you would be a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN) now.’ Well, like Paul we can say “ all things that were gain to us we have counted as dung so that we can win some.”
To be honest like Jonah I was hesitant of this change but I did not go to Tarshish instead of Nineveh. I only delayed my coming to Toronto. We landed in Toronto on December 8, 1999 and I returned to Nigeria for another one and half years! However the best of the short landing trip came on December 25, 1999, when we woke up and I announced to my wife and Sister Nike Adeyemo and her two daughters that ‘since our purpose for coming to Canada is to plant a church we can as well start it today.’ And that was the first service of CAC Bethel Toronto at apartment 1416-2757 Kipling Avenue, Toronto ON Canada. My wife with 5 children ranging from 4 months old Debbie to 12 year old Dara were left to take care of the church. I returned Toronto in April 2001 as a prodigal son to finally take on the mantle of building the church. The church grew by the grace of God and we left the apartment for the basement of the high rise building. We also left the basement for North Kipling multipurpose hall late that 2001. By 2003 the Lord purchased for us the present place of worship 22-94 Kenhar Drive, Toronto.
In 2003, God also led us to start the International Gathering of Eagles Conference. It also started with a lot of questions and haziness in the spirit of many but to the glory of God by the 7th outing God has expanded it to the extent that we had the inaugural version in Nigeria on November 19-21, 2009. God in His infinite mercy also started the branch of the church, Christ Apostolic church Bethel, Calgary in October 2007 through the instrumentality of Elder and Lady Evangelist Charles and Francisca Adekuajo. In May 2009, another branch of the church was started in Ghana through the instrumentality of Deaconess Perpetual Apraku and Brother Mike Ansu. The Church is currently being pastored by Pastor Elijah Adinka in Accra, Ghana We do not want to forget that in 2000 we started the Christ Apostolic Church, Bethel Ikotun, Lagos and is currently being Pastored by Yomi Dada. We also started, Christ Apostolic Church Bethel, Igede- Ekiti in 2003, I was blessed to minister at their 7th anniversary service this year. It is being pastored by Evang Asaholu. . It is also worth mentioning that God has helped us to get a miracle land which has since been developed for Igede- Ekiti church and a plot of land yet to be developed for the Ikotun, Lagos branch.
Furthermore we are glad that the small congregation that started it all which God helped us to start on May 12 1985 at Shell Ogunu Estate in the house of Engineer Sam and Tolu Adegboyega with less than 10 people has grown to become a district, headquarters of the Christ Apostolic Church worldwide, under Bethel Special District presided over now by Pastor G.C.Arubayi. We also note that in the last 10 years, the Okuokoko branch has grown out of it. Pastor & Mrs. Akinwumi (then an Elder) moved from Warri to Kaduna to plant CAC Bethel Kaduna and Pastor & Mrs. Babatunde moved from Warri to start the CAC Bethel Ibadan branch. It was celebration galore and major triumph over the forces of darkness when I attended the 24th anniversary of CAC Bethel Effurun this December to the glory of God. I thank God for the life of these men and women and all our spiritual fathers.
In each of these assemblies, to the glory of God it has been testimonies of progress, solemnization of marriages, conception and deliveries of babies, salvation of many souls, deliverances to the oppressed, prosperity, academic achievement and attainment for the young ones all to the glory of God.
It is to God’s glory that we had the opportunity of ministering ‘Hour of Deliverance’ weekly programme every Wednesday on WHLD1270, a station based in Buffalo, New York,USA from 2006 to 2008.
God has also helped us to multitask by writing books. Dream dreams and have Dominion was launched in London, England on August 21, 1999, Destroying Curses and Evil Covenants was written in 2003, in September 2005 Making the Church Relevant to the Society was launched during The International Gathering of Eagles conference, and to the glory of God on September 19, 2009 the latest book was released and launched- Understanding Principles, Power, Purpose and People of Vision. God continues to open unusual doors of ministration for me during this time, early this year I was privileged to spend 45 days in Libya (got visa as a Professional Engineer of Ontario, not as a pastor) one of the worlds Islamic strongholds thus making it the 30th nation of the world where I have gone to minister the world of God to the glory of God.
With this and more to share but due to space coupled with the fact that my wife and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary on December 20 2009, we want you to join us to celebrate Gods faithfulness, grace, loving kindness, mercy and providence in our material, physical, financial and spiritual lives.
You will agree with me, that in concluding these greetings, apart from God the sovereign Lord who gave us life and sent His Son to die for us, you are the most important person that has made this journey, highly desirable, walkable, exciting and easy to tread. Your prayers, love, care, financial, material, moral and most importantly spiritual support has led us this far. In The words of J.C. Maxwell ‘what you appreciate appreciates, and what you depreciate depreciates.’ We appreciate you and we pray that you will appreciate in every area of your life in Jesus name.
As we look to the year 2010 and commence another decade of our ministry outside Nigeria, leaving our comfort zone to the wider world with larger challenges and to put Canada on the spiritual map of the world and raise eagle believers as our vision, we sincerely covet your continued support in the New Year. Our prayer for you is that the New Year will be a year of Unprecedented Success (Joshua 1:8) in Jesus name. Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
